"The following error occurred attempting to join the domain The specified server cannot perform the requested operation." I did some research and I think it may be DNS related. Event Type: Description: The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the Active Directory.
I checked the DNS event log on the server and found that their are a lot of errors. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly.
You can rename a computer by right-clicking on the My Computer icon on the desktop, choosing Properties and then clicking on Computer Name tab.
Click the Change button and type in a new name for the computer.
